• Where and When

More spacious, more gracious, more elegant, mo’ better.  Uptown at its most luxurious.

Uptown Style: Harlem Heights

Your pied à terre on Sugar Hill. Perched on the highest elevation in Manhattan, the neighborhood feels like a slice of Colonial Williamsburg airlifted into the city. The townhouse looks at the Morris-Jumel Mansion, George Washington’s headquarters for 1776′s Battle of Harlem Heights and home to the infamous grand horizontal, Madame Jumel.
At the time Duke Ellington dubbed it the “The Crown of Sugar Hill,” the immediate neighborhood was also home to W.E.B. DuBois, Paul Robeson, Count Basie, Lena Horne, Coleman Hawkins, Teddy Wilson, Johnny Hodges and dozens of Jazz Masters.
The self-contained garden apartment features a library specializing in Harlem Heights' history - from its roots in Revolution through the jazz-age Renaissance to its very Now now. It still swings.

Reviews

“Nous recommandons vraiment cet endroit, nous y retournerons volontiers !!!!”

“Le logement est tout à fait conforme à la description, c’est un lieu très paisible au milieu des livres de Kurt. Le jardin est une bénédiction, surtout en été ! Kurt et Camilla ont été des hôtes fantastiques, toujours prêts à rendre service en cas de besoin et pleins de bons conseils sur le quartier […]

“Little nest that nestles where the roses bloom…”

“Amazing apartment with vintage stereos and books.  Kurt was welcoming and been a perfect local scene guide. The apartment is one of a kind, possibly the only one like it in the world. Highly recommended ”   Foong Chee Mun.  airbnb.
